Wikimedia Alliances Fund 2023

The Wikimedia Alliances Fund 2023 supports organizations that can contribute toward the strategic direction of the Wikimedia Movement, especially those that promote knowledge equity. The Wikimedia Fund supports mission-aligned organizations that work in regions and communities that are underrepresented in the Wikimedia movement.

Eligibility

  • Wikimedia Alliances Fund 2023 will invite non-profit organizations that have aligned missions with the Wikimedia movement
  • Only non-profits from Sub-Saharan Africa and East, Southeast Asia, and Pacific funding regions
  • The applicant must follow the Universal Code of Conduct and Friendly Space Policies

Benefits

  • 250,000 USD is available for all invited organizations in fiscal years 2023–24. The total amount of funding will be shared between the invited applicants from Sub-Saharan Africa and the East, Southeast Asia, and Pacific funding regions.
  • Programmatic support can be directed toward furthering ongoing activities, programs, and initiatives. It can also be used to ideate, incubate, or build new systems of collaboration with the free knowledge ecosystem. Overhead expenses of up to 30% will be allowed to support the stability of partner organizations.
