Global Health Workforce Programme
The Global Health Workforce Programme aims to develop the health workforce in Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria, supporting them to build stronger, more resilient health systems for post-pandemic recovery and to make progress towards universal health coverage.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this program, applications must:
- Be submitted by a health partnership that includes, as a minimum, a lead partner from any two of the four GHWP countries: the UK, Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria.
- Identify one lead partner institution from each country included in the application to share accountability and ownership of the project. Applications must be made jointly by both lead partners, with one partner identified as a contract holder.
- Any organization is eligible as long as the Official Development Assistance rules are followed. Please note, though, that government departments are not eligible to receive funding.
Benefits
The Global Health Workforce Programme provides:
- Large grants of between £200,000 and £350,000 that feed into the country scoping priorities and program outputs;
- Small grants up to £50,000 for projects that tackle specific areas such as innovation, rural health facilities, leadership opportunities for women and protected groups, and the climate crisis.
